Kate Middleton 'shocked' by response to photo editing row as CNN reviews all Kensington Palace brochures

Princess Kate's 'reassuring' Mother's Day image 'done completely backwards', says royal biographer

A major US broadcaster has begun reviewing all photographs of Kensington Palace as the Princess of Wales feels “shocked” by the manipulated image at the center of a growing royal dispute.

CNN revealed that it was forced to make the decision after Kate Middleton publicly apologized and admitted to posting an edited family photo of her and her three children for Mother's Day.

Within hours of the palace sharing it on social media, international film agencies began recalling the image, citing fears it had been “doctored”, while eagle-eyed royal fans flagged numerous concerns about the editing.

Despite being under pressure to repair the public relations damage caused by the controversy, the palace refused to release the original, unedited photo.

In a damning analysis of the furore, CNN said the image had been published for editorial purposes and that media organizations “hope those images are accurate.” The broadcaster said they “consider it unacceptable to move, change or manipulate the pixels of an image.”

The princess said she had simply “tried to do her best” because she knew how important it was for it to be “a pretty picture,” a royal source said. The times.

Kate Gate: How technology is changing photography forever

However, this ability to manipulate photographs is not new, and fake photos are practically as old as photography itself.

Stop shaming Kate Middleton for editing her family photo

Now, I don't blame her for “manipulating” the image (which is what led to several major photo agencies “murdering” it). I have done it myself. Anyone in their right mind who has small children knows how absolutely impossible it is to get them to even look in the same direction, let alone sit still.

There's a lot of pressure on moms like me to be perfect on Instagram, and the Princess of Wales has everyone watching.

CNN to review all Kensington Palace photographs

A major US broadcaster has begun reviewing all submitted photographs of Kensington Palace as the royal row over a doctored image by the Princess of Wales continues to escalate.

CNN revealed that it was forced to make the decision after Kate Middleton publicly apologized and admitted to posting an edited family photo of her and her three children for Mother's Day.

In a damning analysis of the furor, the channel said the image had been published for editorial purposes and that media organizations “hope those images are accurate.”

They added that they “consider it unacceptable to move, change or manipulate the pixels of an image” because this “would alter “the reality of the situation that the image is intended to document.”

Photo by Kate: Why the controversy over editing and manipulation could be just the beginning

The post does not mention how the edits were actually made: what changes were made or what software was used to make them. While it has generated a lot of speculation about artificial intelligence, there is nothing to indicate whether or not it was used in the image.

But the suggestion that it was edited in the same way that “many amateur photographers” do could be an indication that doctored images are becoming more common and increasingly convincing. There is a long history of misleading images, but they have never been easier to create than now.

In fact, edited images are now so common that the people taking them may not even realize they are doing it. New phones and other cameras include technology that attempts to improve images, but can also change them in unknown ways.
