Kate Middleton seen for the first time since surgery – Latest royal family news

The royal family is mourning the sudden death of Lady Gabriella Kingston's husband Tom

Kate Middleton has been seen for the first time since her abdominal surgery.

The Princess of Wales was photographed today being driven by her mother near Windsor, according to gossip site TMZ.

The photograph shows the royal wearing sporting sunglasses sitting in the passenger seat next to her mother Carole Middleton in a black Audi 4×4.

It comes as King Charles is about to make his first overseas trip to Australia since his shocking cancer diagnosis.

News of the King's planned trip comes as the Queen will take a week off after completing 13 official engagements since her diagnosis alone.

Following her rest, Camilla will represent the King at the annual Royal Maundy service and distribute unique coins to community stalwarts across the country at an ancient ceremony at Worcester Cathedral on March 28.

The Bishop of Worcester, Dr John Inge, said: “This is an immensely special service and I know it will mean a huge amount to those who have been chosen to receive the coins, who will have given years of service to their local communities. .”

Since his diagnosis, the King has postponed all his public-facing duties, but continues his work behind the scenes.

Sophie urges world to stand 'shoulder to shoulder' with those raped during war

The Duchess of Edinburgh has urged nations to stand “shoulder to shoulder” with those raped during conflicts and guarantee them “justice and full reparation.”

Sophie denounced rape as “pure evil” and said it was a “war tactic” and “not just an unfortunate victim”, during a video speech at a conference on conflict-related sexual violence.

The event was held in Ukraine, where the duchess said the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office had recorded more than 120,000 incidents of alleged war crimes committed during the conflict with Russia.

In her video address, the Duchess said: “Survivors here and around the world have spoken very bravely about their experiences.

“They are the most powerful advocates reminding us all that we must not turn our backs on the horrors of this crime, we must never forget the survivors.

“Rather, we must stand shoulder to shoulder with all survivors to ensure justice and comprehensive reparation, and ensure that this crime is not an accepted part of the conflict.

“Their rights and voices must be at the center of all our efforts to relegate conflict-related sexual violence to the history books.”
