Kate Middleton News: Princess of Wales gives update on project as she continues cancer treatment

The Monarch, 75, took an extended break from public duties after being diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer earlier this year.

He made the light-hearted comment in a surprise appearance at an army barracks earlier this month.

The King told Lieutenant Colonel Robert Grant: “When this opportunity arose and I was allowed out of my cage, I wanted to come and have a look.”

The Monarch has been determined to attend as many engagements as possible since returning to work last month.

He attended five engagements in 48 hours last week, culminating in an appearance at the Royal Opera House, which was also a surprise.

The Duke of Edinburgh, 60, said the experience became “much more emotional” than it could have been because he died just 17 months after Prince Philip.

Edward made the comments on Saturday (May 18) as he stood in for King Charles as Lord High Commissioner at the Church of Scotland General Assembly.

“There have been times recently when I have been blessed to have felt the care and love of God,” he said.

“And who could forget the scenes that followed my mother's death?

“The outpouring of emotions, the display of respect, love and pain was overwhelming and a privilege to experience and behold.

“I think I can speak for my entire family when I say we will be forever grateful for that support.”

He Weakest link The presenter, 79, confirmed she is in a relationship with Andrew Parker Bowles, 84, who was previously married to the Queen for 22 years.

Addressing rumors of a romance between the couple, Robinson said “yes” and then opened up about how her lifestyle choices have impacted her love life.

“If you don't drink, you're not that reckless, are you?” she said Saga Magazine.

“I firmly believe in surprising yourself by taking risks.

“Personally and professionally. Who does not risk does not win.

“If the worst thing that can happen is an egg falling on your face, that's not terrible, is it?”

For the first time, never-before-seen portraits of the royal family are on display.

“For centuries, portraiture has played a vital role in shaping the public's perception of the Royal Family,” the exhibition explains.

“This exhibition traces the evolution of royal portrait photography from the 1920s to the present day, bringing together more than 150 photographic prints, evidence and documents from the Royal Collection and the Royal Archives.”

Current royal portrait photographer Hugo Burnand exclusively told The independent which has a special meaning for him as it features “the first photographs taken of members of the royal family in the Victorian era.”

The early years report, which Kate reviewed at home, examines how the economy could be boosted if companies adopted more family-friendly policies.

A senior royal aide said: “The Princess of Wales was the driving force behind the business task force. She has been kept up to date since the inception of the task force and has read the report and been briefed on it.

“This is a clear commitment that she has made and that, throughout her life of public service, will be [the] focus.”

The aide emphasized that Kate will not return to public duties until she has received the “green light” from her doctors.

Judge Timothy Fancourt ruled today (May 21) that Murdoch and other executives who allegedly covered up wiretapping evidence cannot be named in the case.

The ruling was made on the basis that the Duke of Sussex was attempting to pursue a political agenda.

“There is a desire on the part of those directing the litigation on the plaintiffs' side to shoot at 'trophy' targets, whether political issues or high-profile individuals,” Fancourt wrote.

“As tempting as it undoubtedly is for the plaintiffs' team to try to frame the man at the top, doing so will add nothing to the conclusion that Ms. Brooks and Mr. James Murdoch or other senior executives knew about and were involved, if that has been shown to be the case.”

“I remember a book called Angelique, written by a woman called Anne Golon, which is about this beautiful French woman who went through a series of completely crazy adventures,” the Queen said.

“At one point he landed at the court of the Sun King Louis XIV. I think he was probably about 11 or 12 years old. “It was incredibly exciting.”

The new exhibition opened on Friday (May 17) and features portraits of the royal family dating back to the Victorian era.

Kate's portrait was taken by Paolo Roversi and is part of the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery.

The benefit, offered by The Royal Collection Trust, will end on June 1.

Thereafter, residents with the Royal Borough of Windsor and the Maidenhead Advantage Card will have to pay to enter, although they will receive a 50 per cent discount.

Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate Julian Tisi criticized the move and said locals deserve free access.

“Windsor, and specifically the castle, is visited by millions of people from all over the world,” he said.

“During the season, residents gladly welcome tourists in their shops and restaurants, take them in taxis and give them directions on the street.

“In exchange, we will be able to live and work near one of the most emblematic buildings in the world and visit it whenever we want.”

King Charles has said that homegrown fruit and vegetables taste “much better”.

The Monarch made the revelation while speaking to children in the “no adults allowed” garden at the Chelsea Flower Show.

“There's nothing more fun than eating things you've grown,” he said before adding, “It tastes so much better.”
