How were you affected by Eaton's fire?
I was awake [on the day of the fire]making sure that he was not approaching us, and once the smoke began to get to our house, I thought, “we have to leave” because I have a younger brother. He was 2 years old at that time and smoke would really impact it. Then we packed. We have our dogs. My brother has two parrots, so I had to put them in a box. My dad's cousin offered us a place to stay at North Hollywood and was perfect. We had a bed, we had a sofa, we had a stove and a shower, so we thought: “It's perfect.”
We stayed like a month and I couldn't go to the first week [back at] School, so I was really late and missed my friends. I had to get rid of many of my things, but I'm glad we are safe and I could continue with my family. Almost all houses in front of my house are not habitable and now there is a family that lives in a trailer in my street in front of their home, since there is nothing left.
Tell us about your outfit.
I was going for school colors, trying to play the safe. So, like a dark color and then he wanted brightness, but it was just a solid cloth, so I just sprinkle a lot of shine.
We visited Altadena Girls and I could get expensive and high -end beauty products and new makeup, and I was very happy. It made me concentrate on something else, instead of all the things I lost.
How do you feel to be in the graduation dance?
I am so happy. I've been waiting for this day to spend with my friends. I feel that it is such a big milestone because my parents did not go to the graduation dance. My dad did not graduate from high school. My mother graduated from a continuation school, so it is really great that you can get here today and also have your support.
