Jessica Biel has explained why her marriage to Justin Timberlake is “a work in progress.”
The 42-year-old actress spoke candidly about her relationship with Timberlake, to whom she has been married since 2012, during a recent appearance on The view. During the episode, TV host Sara Haines asked Biel how she and Timberlake manage their separate work schedules and time apart while raising their two children together, Silas, eight, and Phineas, three.
In response, Biel explained how she and her husband, who is currently on tour, try to prioritize the time they spend together, despite how busy they are with their careers.
“It's always a work in progress,” he said. “It's constantly about finding balance, finding the time to connect. Thank God for Zoom and FaceTime.”
Noting that technology has been a huge help to her family, especially when they travel, she emphasized how important quality time is for her and Timberlake in their marriage.
“We just discovered that we can connect and see each other in person,” he continued. “Bring him with the kids. We have never done this before with two [kids].”
He Seventh sky The star continued to joke about how exhausting it has been traveling with her children, as Timblerlake is on her latest international tour, the Forget Tomorrow World Tour, following the March 2024 release of her new album. Everything I thought it was.
“I'm already exhausted and it's been four shows,” she said, referring to her husband's tour. “I don't know how she's going to do it. I don't know how we are going to do it. But we will get through it.”
Last April, Biel took to Instagram to share some sweet snaps of her and her kids at the Timberlake show. One photo in the post showed the longtime couple backstage, while another image showed Silas and Phinease posing with Justin Timberlake-themed merchandise. “It's a family affair for everyone,” she wrote in the caption.
Throughout their nearly 12-year relationship, Biel and Timberlake have expressed their support for each other. In January, Biel posted a video montage on Instagram showing sweet moments of her and her husband, in honor of her birthday. “I ALWAYS have you. Happy birthday babe,” she wrote in the caption.
In October 2022, the couple also revealed that in honor of their 10th wedding anniversary, they renewed their vows in Italy. While speaking about the occasion a month later, Biel also confessed that the ceremony was not as big a milestone as it seems.
“Those kinds of sounds, [a] Big deal, right: a renewal of vows. It wasn’t,” she said, during an appearance on Today in November 2022.
He explained that only a few loved ones attended the vow renewal, before noting that it almost didn't happen at all. However, Biel acknowledged that in the end she was grateful that the ceremony took place, as it was a special moment for her and her husband.
“It was very intimate, it was very small,” the actor explained. “A couple of our friends and we literally just put this together. We almost canceled it. We thought, 'Oh, is this nonsense? Are we going to feel stupid doing this?' And, actually, he was very moving. I felt like, 'Wow, we're really going to keep doing this.' Look at us.' He felt very good.”
