Four coincidences occur on this Janmashtami which can prove very beneficial for devotees. Pandit Dheeraj Sharma, a renowned astrologer from Hindaun, Rajasthan, says that these coincidences are believed to have happened during the incarnation of Lord Krishna during the Dwapar Yuga.
According to the pandit, Ashtami, Rohini Nakshatra, Taurus ascendant of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month as well as the moon will be in Taurus. He claims that these coincidences are happening at the same time after a long time. It would be similar to the Dwapar Yuga.
Fasting on the day of Janmashtami is considered very fruitful and will give special results, Pandit Dheeraj Sharma added. The fast is expected to be observed from midnight to 12:45 am. According to the Shastras, the Janmashtami fast is believed to be the most important of all fasts. The Bhavishya Puranas say that if a person observes this fast once, he will get a reward equivalent to 20 million Ekadashis. Also, the devotee will be protected from untimely death, the pandit claimed.
According to Pandit Dheeraj, fasting should be performed with a resolution. The resolution should be, “Lord, I am fasting for you on Janmashtami. Make it a success.” Devotees should remain vigil till 12 midnight and should worship Lord Krishna in his child form after his birth. After the evening puja, Dhanush Panjari Prasad with a little mawa should be given to the Lord.
