The birth anniversary of Lord Shri Krishna, known as Janmashtami, is being celebrated today in India with great pomp. The famous Govind Dev Ji temple in Jaipur, Rajasthan is celebrating Janmashtami in a grand manner. The temple has been decorated with Bandarwal. Shehnai will also be played at the main gate and exit gate throughout the day. According to reports, today before the Mangala Jhanki, Bal Gopal has been anointed with Panchamrit. On this occasion, Lord Krishna will be adorned with special ornaments and dressed in yellow clothes made of new silk fabric with Rajasthani Gota Patti. Govind Dev ji will be given a 31-gun salute at the time of his birth in the evening. Before this, many events will be held at the temple throughout the day.

Dhoop: 7.30 to 9.30
Shringar: 9.45 to 11.30
Rajbhog: 11.45 to 13.30
Gwal: 4pm to 6.30pm
Sandhya: 6.45 to 8.30 pm

Mangal Aarti on the next day: 11 am to 11.15 am

According to temple director Govind Dev Ji, the tableaux will have special significance on Nandotsav. The main tableaux will be held from 7.30 to 8.45 in the morning, followed by the main Nandotsav tableaux from 9.15 to 10. The tableaux will be held on Nandotsav from 10.45 to 11.30, from 6 to 6.30 in the evening, then from 7 to 8.15 and finally from 9 to 9.30 in the evening.
The Govind Dev ji temple administration has requested senior citizens, pregnant women, small children, diabetes patients, high blood pressure patients and asthma patients not to come to the temple as they might face problems due to the large number of people. An online darshan has been arranged for them on the temple website. They can also have darshan of Thakur ji while sitting at home.
The temple committee has requested devotees coming for darshan on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami to wear decent clothes. The temple administration said that no one will be prevented from visiting the temple, but all are still requested to come in decent clothes to see Govind Dev ji.
