Hilarie Burton has spoken openly about her marriage to Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

“Obviously, communication is a really important thing, and it’s also important to anticipate that your partner is going to go through phases and changes,” Burton said. “We’ve both gone through different career stages, where maybe we were super ambitious at one stage of our life and then we settled down at another. And we try to work together so that each one compensates for the other.”
The actress also mentioned her own changes over the years. “I’m certainly not the same person I was at 26,” she added. “I’m like a warmer, more aggressive version of myself now, and he seems to like that.”
Burton also shared her plans for the anniversary. “I’m going to see him next week to celebrate a little early,” the actress continued. “He’s away for work, so I’ll see him for 24 hours and no one should expect to be in touch with us. It’s great.”
The two met in 2009 when they were introduced by mutual friends Jensen and Danneel Ackles, who set them up on a blind date. A year later, they had their first child, Augustus.
Their second son, George, was born in 2018 and the family moved to a farm in upstate New York called “The Mischief Farm.” The couple didn’t marry until after they had been dating for about 10 years.
Burton announced their wedding in an Instagram post: “We have lived as husband and wife for a decade. We have raised a family and a farm and founded our community.”
“For years, publications have reported that we got married in 2014 or 2015 and that I had been married and divorced before. It was all a lie, but WE knew our truth, so it seemed silly to try to correct anything.”
Recently, another actress revealed the secret of her own marriage. Jamie Lee Curtis spoke with Entertainment Tonight Earlier this month, she opened up about her marriage to Christopher Guest of nearly 40 years.
“Well, you're not leaving,” Curtis told the outlet. He went on to compare marriage to an addict's recovery.

Referring to his inclusion of hate, Curtis said the idea is to recognize that you can't be in love with your partner every second of every day and still choose to stay together anyway.
“They will hate each other. They will not separate. They will not allow that hatred to lead them to make a decision that they will regret. I think that is really the secret,” he explained.
