Halle Berry and Halle Bailey Take Photos Together After Being Mistaken for Each Other

Halle Berry and Halle Bailey poked fun at the similarities between their names in the ultimate photo shoot.

The 57-year-old actor and 23-year-old singer took to Instagram on February 26 to share photos they took together at a recent soccer match between the LA Galaxy and Inter Miami. “When two Halles come together”, the catwoman The star captioned the joint Instagram post, adding, “I really adore you @hallebailey.”

In the first photo, Berry put her arm around Bailey while Little Mermaid The star smiled at the camera. The second photo showed the couple exchanging a hug, while they posed for a selfie in the third image.

“I was living this moment!!” wrote The color Purple star in the comments section. “Thank you for being so kind to me, you have made my life.”

Fans were instantly ecstatic that the two stars had finally shared photos together on social media, after their names became confused in recent years.

“I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT!!!” commented one Instagram user.

“This moment was inevitable,” said another person, while a third user wrote: “Oh how I love this moment, the meeting of the Halles.”

“Two iconic Halles in one picture,” said someone else.

Bailey has recently risen to fame as a singer and actress, known for being one half of the R&B duo Chloe x Halle, alongside her sister Chloe Bailey. In 2023 only, she played Ariel in Disney's live-action remake of The little Mermaidas well as the musical film adaptation of The color Purple. However, throughout her growing stardom, that hasn't stopped people from confusing her with the Oscar-winning actor.

When it was announced in 2019 that the adult The star was cast as the lead in the live action. Little Mermaid movie, many people believed that it would actually be Berry who would play Ariel. In response to the confusion, Berry shared in a post on X, formerly Twitter: “In case you need a reminder… Halles, do it. Congratulations @chloexhalle on this amazing opportunity, we can't wait to see what you do! #TheLittleMermaid #HalleBailey.”

Bailey chimed in: writing: “This means the world. Happy to share names with you… I love you very much.”

In 2021, another fan mistakenly responded to a post by Berry and wrote that “I can't wait to see you under the sea,” along with a mermaid emoji.

“… I found it wrong hahaha”, Berry answered At the time. “Although I'm looking forward to seeing it too!”

During an appearance at Lives with Kelly and Mark In March 2023, Bailey finally revealed the origin of her name, after hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos commented on how much her name resembles the The monster ball star.

“In my family we have always loved Halle Berry. I mean, she's amazing,” Bailey said, when she was asked if her parents “considered” her similarities when naming her. “And originally, when I was a baby, they wanted to name me Hailey but my last name is Bailey. “So that wouldn’t have worked.”

“In the end they decided on Halle, and she's very similar to Halle Berry,” he continued. “But there's no one else I'd rather have a similar name because she's great.”

The actress also shared details about her first interaction with Berry, which took place at the 2023 Academy Awards ceremony.

“She was very kind to me. I was like, 'Oh my God, I love you!'” Bailey said, remembering her encounter. “She's always been very supportive of me on social media, so we've had a few inbox interactions, but that was the first time I met her. And she is like an angel.”
