Goldie Hawn has revealed how she and her partner Kurt Russell experienced two home break-ins in just a few months.
The 78-year-old actress spoke candidly about the incidents at her Los Angeles home on a recent episode of Kelly Ripa. Let's talk off camera podcast. During the conversation, Hawn recalled for the first time how she and Russell “got robbed once,” as they had gone out to dinner together for just a couple of hours.
“I went upstairs, I went into my closet and I just lost it,” he said, noting that he discovered how he had been robbed when he was going to sleep. “They had broken in from the balcony to our bedroom, our closets. And they completely broke down my door, which is a secure door, so they are very, very sophisticated and they got a lot of my stuff.”
According to Hawn, she thought that after being robbed once, the chances of that happening again were pretty slim. However, she said “about four months passed” when she heard someone trying to break into her house again. And this time, Russell wasn't there.
“I heard a big bang upstairs and I was alone,” she explained. “And I said, 'What the hell was that?' Was that a sonic boom? Did someone jump somewhere? And it turned out, the next day, we found out that they were trying to get into my room while I was in the house.”
He Death becomes her The star went on to acknowledge how scary the second attempted home invasion was, before sharing that she now has more security around her.
“I've had a guard, especially when I'm alone now,” she explained. “I am never without guard. We have a good relationship with our guard and you feel good. You feel good.”
After Ripa described her safety concerns when away from her husband, Mark Consuelos, Hawn details how she is never too far from her family. This includes her and her ex Bill Hudson's children, Oliver Hudson, 47, and Kate Hudon, 45, and her and Russell's 37-year-old son Wyatt. Russell also shares his son Boston, 44, with his ex-wife, Season Hubley.
“I have Katy on the same street, I have Oliver on the same street, I have my son Boston,” he said. “And Wyatt is making a movie in Atlanta now, so we're going to go see them in a few days because I can't be without my grandkids.”
Hawn then expressed that she is willing to move to Atlanta with her entire family. “It's so beautiful there that I said, 'Hey, guys, why don't we all move there?'” she continued. Because we all said that if one moves, we all have to move together. “That's what we've always said.”
The actress also acknowledged that she always wanted to keep her family close, even when her children grew up.
“It was really our dream to have a family complex like that because we all get along, but we would make houses further away from each other when we got tired of each other,” he explained. “But now we have that.”
This isn't the first time Hawn has spoken about her close bond with her family, including Russell, with whom she has been in a relationship since 1983. She also mentioned that while their romance has spanned decades, she doesn't necessarily see the need to get married
“We've been married and when it doesn't work out, it ends up being a big deal,” she said of Russell during an interview with CNN in July 2023. “It's always ugly.”
She then reflected on the concept of divorce, before listing some of the concerns she would have if she got divorced for the third time.
“Someone needs to take a look and say, 'How many divorces are actually funny?' How many divorces actually cost no money? How many divorces actually make you hate the person more than before? How many divorces have harmed children?'” Hawn added.
