Founded in 1646, during the Mughal period, this temple was rebuilt by Maratha Sardar Mahadji Scindia in 1760. Scindia, who was the ruler of Gwalior, also planted a pipal tree on the temple grounds, which is present even now.
It is believed that during his visits to Agra, Scindia used to pray at this temple. Despite multiple attacks and attempts to destroy it, the temple still stands today.
According to locals, Mahadji Scindia started the Ganesha procession at this temple during Ganesh Chaturthi with grand celebrations. A sandalwood palanquin carries Lord Ganesha around the town in a procession during Ganesh Chaturthi.

The temple is open from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. To reach the temple, devotees should head to Raja Mandi Market from MG Road and then proceed to Mansa Devi Gokulpura Road.
