The 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi Utsav will begin on September 7 and conclude with the immersion of the Ganesh idol on Anant Chaturdashi, which falls on September 17.

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the fourth day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada. This year, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on September 7. On this day, idols of Ganpati are installed in homes and large pandalswhere elaborate decorations and processions are organized.

This year, four special prayers can be performed during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

  • Sarvarth Siddhi Yajna: From 7th September at 12:34 pm to 8th September at 06:03 am
  • Ravi Yajna: 7th September, 06:02 am to 12:34 pm
  • Brahma Yajna: 7th September, 06:02 am to 11:17 pm
  • Indra Yajna: On the night of September 7, from 11:17 pm until the next day.

Arrangements for Ganesh Chaturthi puja

To perform the puja, you need a Ganesha idol and a wooden pole and banana plants to create the MandateYellow and red clothes are required during the puja, in addition to Janeu (sacred thread), sandalwood, Durva (sacred herb), flowers, Akhshat (rice grains), betel nut, seasonal fruits, incense, candle (lamp), Gangachal (holy water), camphor, vermilion, kalash (sacred pot) and modak.
