Renowned for its eclectic style and innovative spirit, London Fashion Week is back for its 40th anniversary. This unique platform always sets the stage for the latest beauty trends and 2024 was no exception. From bold makeup looks to revolutionary hairstyles, the London Fashion Week 2024 catwalks offered a glimpse into the future of beauty. Packed with moments that elevated the mundane, the runway was a huge inspiration for fashion lovers around the world.
Let's take a look at the hottest trends that emerged on the catwalks this year and are set to inspire makeup looks around the world:
Lips at sunset
This season, the most prominent lips on the runways were adorned with warm shades of deep red and orange. Ahluwalia’s London Fashion Week debut paid homage to cultural heritage, drawing inspiration from the blend of Jamaica and India. With luminous skin creating a radiant and fresh appearance, the warm colours mimicked the hues of a sunset.
Otherworldly glow
Patrick McDowell’s event beauty look was a masterclass in ethereal skin, perfectly paired with a deep brown lip liner and 2000s nude shades. The radiant, luxurious skin was complemented by stunning barbed wire eye makeup, creating a look that balanced elegance with a touch of edginess.
Smokey eyes in cool tones
In case you didn't know, cool-toned eye makeup was all the rage at this year's London Fashion Week. Models rocked intense smoky eyes on the catwalk, featuring a combination of olive green and metallic grey pigments with a matte finish.
Icy blue eyelids
Taking a step beyond nude eyeshadows, a wash of colour was applied all over, particularly blue eyeshadows. It was a standout trend on the London Fashion Week catwalks this season. Models sported a variety of eyeshadows designed to complement their skin tones and outfits. At Tove, shades such as icy blues, moss greens and bright reds were applied to the lids, adding a touch of glamour and futuristic appeal.
Gothic girl eye makeup
Designer Huishan Zhang embraced London’s rock-chic vibe and paired his collection with gothic-inspired eye makeup. Models wore mid-tone grey eyeshadow all over the lid and up to the brow bone, adding a bold, edgy edge to the LFW runway.
Matte dove grey eyes
Once again, designers have experimented with cool-toned pigments on their models’ eyes. South London-based label KNWLS opted for a pretty shade of light grey for a softer look that’s perfect for the summer and spring months.
