The actress also spoke about the principles she and Virat hope to establish in their children.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have a unique approach to raising their children, Vamika and Akaay. In a recent chat at Slurrp Farm’s YES Moms & Dads event, the actress opened up about the challenges of being a parent and shared her insights on her parenting approach.
Anushka said that, like others, they are not worried about being “perfect parents”. “We are not perfect and that is okay. We complain about things and it is okay to admit that in front of our children, so they know that we have flaws.”
Anushka revealed that she follows a strict schedule, eats early and retires to bed, making sure that her children adopt the same habit. Anushka explained that her habit of having dinner at 5:30 pm started out of convenience. Her daughter, Vamika, would frequently ask for dinner early and it soon became a part of her lifestyle. “It started out of convenience because my daughter wanted to have dinner early. She would do it around 5:30 and most of the times it was just her and me at home,” Anushka said.
The actress admitted that the early dinner routine has a variety of benefits, including better sleep and mental clarity, saying: “I started to see the benefits: I slept better, I felt more refreshed in the morning and there was less brain fog.”
Anushka shared that she and Virat have a cooking tradition for their children. She stated, “We had this discussion that if we don’t make the food our moms made, we won’t pass on these recipes to our kids. Sometimes I cook and sometimes my husband does, but I cheat by calling my mom for recipes.”
The actress also spoke about the principles she and Virat hope to instil in their children by guiding them through action rather than instruction. “If you see them being disrespectful, they are just being kids. You can show them the way gently,” Anushka stated.
