Francesca Farago has revealed how a Snapchat fan may have saved the lives of her unborn babies.
The reality TV star, who is currently fifteen weeks pregnant with twins via in vitro fertilization, spoke to E! News about the moment that led her to an unexpected diagnosis.
Farago, 31, had already been consulting with a team of fertility experts and six obstetricians and gynecologists when she received a message from a fan via Snapchat. At this point, the Too hot to handle The star hadn't expressed any specific concerns about her pregnancy on the app, but a woman reached out to offer a helpful suggestion anyway.
“Someone messaged me and said, 'Hey, I lost my twins at 21 weeks. You should go get your cervix checked,'” Farago said. What did Farago do? She immediately went to have her cervix checked.
“It opened up a whole world of anxiety and stress and doctor appointments and specialists,” she said. “But it also allowed me to potentially save babies in the future and avoid miscarriage.”
From all the quotes, Farago now knows she has a short cervix. “There's something wrong with my uterus and my cervix, and I wouldn't have known about it if it weren't for Snapchat,” he admitted.
Looking ahead to the second trimester, the fashion influencer plans to have a cervical cerclage. According to the Cleveland Clinic, the procedure helps keep the cervix closed during pregnancy to prevent premature birth in women with a weakened cervix.
“During this procedure, your healthcare provider will place one or more sutures (stitches) at the opening of your cervix to keep it securely closed,” the clinic states.
After the emotional roller coaster of her months-long IVF journey, Farago wants to make sure her babies are healthy and safe throughout her pregnancy. The social media personality underwent multiple rounds of IVF before finally becoming pregnant with twins. And while she's thrilled to be expecting not one, but two babies with her fiancé, Jesse Sullivan, she admitted that she was constantly worried.
She said MY!: “I honestly hear horror stories every day from other mothers about things that went wrong and that scares me so much. And I am already a fearful person when it comes to pregnancy, because of how difficult it was to get to this point.”
“I thought at the end of the first quarter I would feel, 'Okay, we're in the safe zone,'” Farago admitted. “But I won't leave the danger zone until the babies are in my arms, and I still have to keep them alive. So I feel like you're not out of the danger zone until they're 18. But even then, you're still worried. So for the rest of your life you will be worried forever.”
Farago and Sullivan, who began dating in 2021, announced that they were expecting in March 2024. The excited mother-to-be took to her Instagram page and shared a touching collage of photos with the caption: “We wanted to take this special day to celebrate this amazing milestone with all of you.”
“We've been with you through defeat, so we couldn't wait to take you with us to victory,” he continued in the March 31 post. “I'm still pregnant and there's so much more to come, but we're so excited to grow our family with Arlo as the coolest big brother! “AHH I’M PREGNANT!”
The happy couple will expand their family with Sullivan's 15-year-old son, who he had with an ex-partner.
