The app has seen a massive increase in traffic (over 25% increase in chats and 40% increase in local matches) in the last 2 months.

11,000 urban and suburban users between 20 and 35 years old from all over the country participated in the online survey. Respondents came from diverse backgrounds, with the majority working in the healthcare, IT, sales and marketing and finance sectors and a small proportion being students and job seekers. Festive flirting

The app reported a rise in flirty interaction and sharing of messages with festive emojis like diya, crackers, sweets, etc., between matches in the last one month. Backing up their report, more than 41% of survey participants ages 20 to 28 revealed they had more casual conversations during the holiday season than the rest of the year. A user from Gurugram said, “It is fun to strike up a light-hearted conversation during this season. But I have noticed that things start to get intense during the post-Diwali and pre-Christmas periods. “Most people start rushing to connect and start the year with someone special.”

Brilliant new holiday profiles

32% of urban and suburban men and women revamped their profiles with holiday-themed bios and profile photos in ethnic attire. 3 in 5 of these users reported receiving more match requests and compliments after updating their dating profiles. Ashutosh (30), from Navi Mumbai, said: “I changed my bio to exchange notes on how to stop eating sweets this Diwali, and I have received more messages than ever.”

The Saree Snaps trend stole the limelight this month, with the app reporting a 15% increase in the number of female users updating their profiles with photos in sarees and other ethnic attires this festive season. Men weren't far behind, as 24% of male users changed their images to something more festive. Bella (28) said: “I got more likes once I changed my profile photo from a photo in western clothes to one in a saree. “People are more drawn to their own culture and tradition during this time of year.”

More than 39% of male users over 30 sent their first message to new matches in the last week of October. Ayan from Bengaluru said, “I took advantage of the festive atmosphere to start a conversation with my partner. Whatever you plan this Diwali or Happy Diwali works like a charm.”
