Emily Ratajkowski has revealed how a random person on the street told her to “put a shirt on”.

The 33-year-old model shared a video on TikTok on August 19, in which she is seen walking through the streets of New York City. In the video, she wore low-rise black pants and a low-cut grey tank top, paired with a black shoulder bag, a gold necklace, and brown-framed glasses.

However, when she turned the camera towards herself, after focusing on the sidewalk in front of her, a man in the background made a rude comment about her appearance.

“Girl, put a shirt on,” the stranger said, a comment Ratajkowski was referring to in the text accompanying her video. The eight-second clip was also set to Charli XCX's hit song, “365,” from her latest album, Golf club.

In the caption, Ratajkowski poked fun at comments she had previously received about her appearance, writing: “Famous for not being modest, famous for not being aware.”

He Missing girl The star's caption is a reference to the viral “very demure, very conscious” trend, which was started by content creator Jools Lebron, who sarcastically told women in his TikTok video to opt for looks that were “modest, modest and respectful in the workplace.”

Many fans took to the comments of Ratajkowski's video to mock and criticize the stranger who told her to “put on a T-shirt.”

“Imagine saying that to Emily Ratajkowski,” one wrote, while another added: “Please, who does she think she is?”

A third added: “How dare you speak to a stranger like that. You should get dressed and be whoever you want to be.”

Other fans praised the actress for how unfazed she seemed by the stranger's comment.

“There was literally no reaction, I love it,” one wrote, while another added: “I love that there was no response, he must be embarrassed.”

“I never agree with them either,” commented a third. “I make them feel ashamed of talking to themselves because I don’t give them my valuable energy in return.”

Ratajkowski has previously poked fun at the scrutiny she has faced due to her appearance. In January, she took to Instagram to share a series of photos of herself wearing a black halterneck top. She made her own statement in the caption, writing: “I decided I'm never going to get over the accusations of being a bimbo so why don't I just bow down, you know?”

In 2017, TV presenter Piers Morgan criticised Ratajkowski in Good morning Great Britain after the model described her photo shoot for LOVE magazine as “empowering.”

In the photo shoot, the model posed next to a bed wrapped in a pile of spaghetti, while wearing lingerie for the magazine’s annual advent calendar. When Morgan’s co-presenter at the time, Susannah Reid, introduced Ratajkowski as a “highly successful international model”, he described her as a “global fool”. He also alleged that she was claiming that her photo shoot was “promoting feminism”.

However, Ratajkowski didn't hesitate to respond to Morgan's comments at the time, as she tweeted: “Haha, I never said my love video was a feminist statement. But now it's worth saying that telling women what to do with their bodies and sexuality is actually classic sexism. I can have opinions on feminism and do sexy photoshoots too, thanks.”
