Physical signs of a dysregulated nervous system can be numbness, muscle tension, and digestive problems.
It goes without saying that a healthy nervous system is crucial to maintaining health and well-being. The nervous system is responsible for almost all bodily functions such as breathing, movement and memory. The nervous system is responsible for exchanging signals and information between different parts of the body. Things like chronic stress and lack of sleep can deregulate the nervous system. An unbalanced nervous system can manifest itself with a series of physical and mental symptoms. Below are some signs of an unbalanced nervous system.
- Low focus: Your mood is chronically tired and you have trouble concentrating on things that would previously interest you. Lack of concentration makes it difficult for you to make decisions or think clearly. You suddenly have difficulty solving puzzles.
- Bad sleep: You cannot rest and sleep for seven to nine hours uninterrupted. This lack of sleep increases general fatigue.
- Muscle tension, weakness and numbness: You feel that your muscles feel “too tight” and prevent you from performing normal body movement, or you feel numbness in your hands, fingertips, and legs. Cannot bear weight due to muscle weakness.
- Irritability: He suffers frequent attacks of irritability and has problems controlling his emotions and mood. You feel depressed and anxious for no apparent reason. You feel the need to be doing something constantly due to restlessness and you cannot sit still.
- Double vision: A person with an unbalanced nervous system often experiences double vision, blurred vision, and has difficulty concentrating on an object.
- Digestive problems: You suffer from digestive problems such as constipation and diarrhea. You may also experience swelling. The autonomic nervous system is responsible for regulating digestion and bowel movements, and with a dysregulated nervous system these functions are affected and one develops intestinal problems.
There are many ways to treat a dysregulated nervous system, such as regular meditation, getting enough sleep, and exercise. Breathing exercises and massages also help people feel in tune with their body. However, if you suffer from extreme physical symptoms such as numbness and double vision for a prolonged period, you should seek professional help.
