At the outset, the actress clarified that her house is not the work of an interior designer or architect. Each element of the space has been imagined and crafted personally by her over time. She shared that the house completely reflects her personality, even if that means mixing styles that may seem unconventional at first. For Saumya, apparent contrasts are what make the space feel authentic and emotionally grounded.
The tour begins at the entrance, a compact but welcoming area designed to encourage conversation. A simple bench sets the tone, while a sparkling chandelier paired with bold patterned wallpaper immediately catches the eye. Saumya described this unexpected pairing as a reflection of her own sensitivity.
Moving further inside, the living room unfolds with a distinctive old world aesthetic. French-style sofas with a distressed vintage finish dominate the space, giving it warmth and character. Saumya revealed that the room evolved around a single piece of furniture that she fell in love with, and that the rest of the decor fell into place organically.
The dining room continues this worn and lived-in look. From the seating to the lighting, the space exudes a sense of calm and comfort, designed for unhurried meals and meaningful conversations rather than formal dinners.
One of the most striking areas of the house is the bar corner, a space conceptualized by her husband, Saurabh Devendra Singh. Designed for nights out with friends, it exudes a slightly distressed European vibe, enhanced by a bold pop of blue that adds a fun contrast to the rest of the home.
Saumya also talked about her love for antiques and objects with history. He recalled buying a watch in London that stopped working shortly after arriving in India, but he continues to appreciate it for its character rather than its function.
The living room opens to a balcony flooded with natural light. Here, an L-shaped sofa in a soft pastel green sits next to the windows, adorned with floral pillows. This quiet corner is where Saumya prefers to start her mornings reading the newspaper while sipping a hot and nutritious drink.
Among the many seating spaces in the house, a sofa has a special meaning for the actor. She calls it her “lucky couch” as it was here that she got the call to go to Dhurandhar. Knowing that Aditya Dhar was at the helm sealed his decision to take on the project.
