Sanjyot Keer becomes the first Indian chef and digital creator to cook an Indian meal with Ed Sheeran. In an exciting cross-cultural collaboration, renowned Indian chef Sanjyot Keer guides international music sensation Ed Sheeran in preparing the traditional Maharashtrian street food dish, Misal Pav.
The cooking session took place during Sheeran's recent tour stop in Mumbai as part of his +-=÷x tour. Sanjyot Keer, widely recognized for his expertise in Indian cuisine, explains to Ed the intricacies of preparing Misal Pav, imparting information on the ingredients, techniques and cultural significance of the dish.
Beyond preparing the delicious Misal Pav, the time Sheeran and Keer spent together allowed for an interesting discussion that encompassed the singer's love of Indian culture, film and music. The conversation covered topics such as Sheeran's favorite Indian films and songs, his potential to collaborate with Indian musicians, and even the driving forces behind his string of record-breaking hit releases.
Commenting on his cooking experience with Ed, Chef Sanjyot said, “He liked to try Indian cuisine, so we specially cooked the local Maharashtrian favorite misal pav. Collaborating with such a humble and passionate artist was a wonderful experience, which marked an important day in my life.”
Ed thoroughly enjoyed the hot and spicy misal pav, declaring it his “new comfort food at home” and one of the highlights of his Indian food adventures so far.
