Recently, TIME magazine named Mumbai’s Museum of Solutions (MuSo) one of the world’s best places of 2024.
Mumbai’s Museum of Solutions offers young people cutting-edge experiences to help them become future change-makers.
The annual list of the best places in the world, which includes 100 exceptional places to travel and stay, was released by TIME magazine. The magazine has included Mumbai’s Museum of Solutions (MuSo), a unique children’s museum, on its list of the best places in the world for 2024.
Located in central Mumbai, MuSo is a unique establishment that inspires children to become the problem solvers of tomorrow. It offers a variety of experiences, including immersive galleries, learning and development programmes, labs using creative tools and a library with a carefully curated selection of children’s books. The overall aim of the museum is to inspire young people to think creatively and make a constructive contribution to their communities.
Tanvi Jindal Shete, Founder of the Museum of Solutions, said: “We are deeply honoured to be included on TIME’s list of the world’s best places to visit. This recognition is a testament to our dedicated staff, volunteers and partners who have worked tirelessly to create a dynamic and engaging space that inspires action and change. The fact that MuSo has been recognised on this list in less than a year since we began operating, underlines the impact it has had so far. We thank everyone who has visited us so far and take this opportunity to invite everyone to come and experience MuSo. We will continue our mission to inspire and educate future change-makers through creativity and innovation.”
The MuSo team has been working to create an environment that fosters creativity and forward-thinking capabilities since the company was founded in 2023. It aims to be a place of learning, discovery, and creation for visitors. A variety of exhibits at the MuSo showcase creative approaches to problems in fields such as technology, sustainability, and the arts. Visitors can observe first-hand examples of constructive change in action. The museum also hosts seminars and workshops on a variety of topics for people of all ages in an effort to foster a community of lifelong learners and changemakers.
TIME’s recognition cements its position as a must-visit destination for young, curious minds around the world. The museum is dedicated to its goal of enabling visitors to become agents of change as it expands and changes over time.
To create this list, TIME asked its global network of correspondents and contributors for recommendations of places, with a special focus on those that offer new and exciting experiences. Nominations were accepted for hotels, cruises, restaurants, attractions, museums, parks and more.
The Solutions Museum sets itself apart from other children’s museums in India with its unique solutions-oriented approach, which goes beyond traditional learning-through-play methodologies. The nonprofit, which spans 100,000 square feet in Lower Parel, Mumbai, features four unique labs where children between the ages of two and seventeen can experiment with math, physics, art, and other STEAM subjects; use immersive experiences to tackle real-world issues like marine pollution and climate change; use electronics, woodworking, and technology to create models of anything from boats to robots; and learn about sustainability through composting and gardening. The museum intends to establish a Changemaker Panel by the end of the year, a first-of-its-kind program in India (and around the world) where children between the ages of 11 and 14 would help create new shows and activities.
