A bionic “hero arm” has been an “instant confidence boost” for a five-year-old boy who was born without a left hand, his mother said.
The images show Jordan Marotta, the world's youngest recipient of the arm produced by Bristol-based Open Bionics, showing off his Iron Man-style arm.
The company opened four clinics in the United States last year.
Her mother Ashley Marotta says she rushed back to her school to show her friends the custom-made 3D-printed prosthetic that uses special sensors that detect muscle contractions and convert them into bionic hand movements.
Several children in the United Kingdom received a Hero Arm at the age of seven.
