Billy Ray Cyrus has shared a sweet tribute to his daughter Miley Cyrus amid their alleged family feud.
The 62-year-old singer shared a sweet memory of himself and his daughter, who he shares with ex-wife Tish Cyrus, on Instagram on June 7. His post included a photo of him and Miley, when she was a baby, along with a poem, titled “The Moment,” that he had written.
The post, which was an Instagram throwback video, was also set to Miley's hit song, “Flowers.” In the caption, Billy Ray remembered when the old photo of him and his daughter was taken.
“One of my best memories: @cma Fest, when it was Fan Fair. That's me and @mileycyrus, surrounded by thousands of amazing fans at the showgrounds. The next day, someone handed me this photo and I wrote that poem right then and there on the bus,” he wrote.
The “Words by Heart” singer gushed about Miley and all the success she has had throughout her career so far.
“I am incredibly proud of her. She is a survivor and a true artist. “She learned early on to love and appreciate the fans who make everything possible,” she continued.
Cyrus, who starred alongside her daughter on the hit Disney Channel show. Hannah MontanaHe also shared one of the things he thinks he and Miley have in common.
“We both appreciate the connection we have with our fans and are grateful for each of you! I hope you all have a good Friday! Now shake the country!!!” He concluded.
Billy Ray's post comes months after fans speculated that Miley dissed her father when she received one of her two Grammy Awards earlier this year. Accepting the “Record of the Year” award for her song “Flowers,” Miley sweetly mentioned a few members of her family, except her father.
“I want to thank everyone who is on this stage right now, Tom, Tyler, Michael and Greg,” he said. “Our teams, my team, Crush, Columbia, my mom, my sister, my love, my main gays because look how good I look.”
He then joked about not leaving anyone's name out of his speech, which fans believed was a shade towards his father. “I don't think he's forgotten me about anyone,” the “Wrecking Ball” singer said. “But I may have forgotten the underwear. Bye bye!”
After the Grammys, a source also alleged Us weekly that Billy Ray had tried to contact his daughter and that the couple were not close.
“He has tried to reach out to Miley many times and congratulated her on her Grammys,” the source claimed in February. “Miley and Billy Ray are out. Miley is very close to her mother and supports her.”
There has been previous speculation that there has been a split between Tish and Billy Ray's five children: Brandi, 37, Trace, 35, Miley, 31, Braison, 30, and Noah, 24. Tish has since moved on with Prison Break star Dominic Purcell, whom she married in August last year. Meanwhile, Billy Ray married singer Firerose, 34, in October 2023.
Miley was a bridesmaid at her mother Tish's wedding last summer, while her older siblings Brandi and Trace Cyrus also attended. However, many fans noticed that her younger brothers Braison and Noah were not present at her mother's nuptials.
On the same day as her mother's wedding, Noah shared photos on her Instagram Story of her and Braison together, clearly not at Tish's intimate poolside wedding ceremony in Malibu. Instead, her brother and sister posed for photos at a restaurant, while Noah wrote in her story that Braison “flew” to see her in Los Angeles. In another Story post, the “July” singer also wore a t-shirt with her father Billy Ray’s face on it. However, no member of the Cyrus family has addressed the rumors of a feud.
