Beat the summer heat by making this delicious Lahori Jeera drink at home

Lahori Jeera is a perfect and healthy summer drink, low in sugar, which you can try to beat the heat and which you can also add to your diet to lose weight.

One of the most important factors during summer is to stay hydrated and healthy. As the mercury level rises, it is quite common to suffer from heat stroke or dry lips. During this season, dehydration becomes a common problem as our body tends to lose water at a higher rate due to sweating, especially when we exercise. This leads to numerous health problems such as weakness, feeling lethargic, tiredness and general malaise. While drinking water is the solution, let's face it, sometimes water alone can be very boring. In such cases, homemade drinks may be the best way to stay hydrated.

Disha Sethi, a certified nutritionist and nutrigenomics consultant, has come up with a perfect, healthy, low-sugar summer drink that you can try to beat the heat and also add to your diet for weight loss. Taking to Instagram, Sethi shared a recipe for a homemade Lahori Jeera drink.

To prepare this drink you need some ingredients such as:

  • Lemon- 1 piece
  • Zeera Powder -1/4 tablespoon.
  • Honey -1/2 tablespoon
  • Black salt- 1/4 tbsp.
  • Black Pepper- 1 pinch
  • Chat Masala – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Mint leaves: 3 to 4
  • soda
  • Ice cubes, as per requirement.
  • Coriander powder – 1 pinch (optional)

How to prepare this drink? Follow these steps:

  1. Take a glass and squeeze a lemon.
  2. Add some mint leaves for a refreshing taste and smell.
  3. Next, add 1/4 tablespoon of Chaat Masala, 1/4 tablespoon of jeera powder, ¼ tablespoon of black salt, 1 pinch of coriander powder and ½ tablespoon of honey to the glass and mix everything well.
  4. Add a few ice cubes, depending on your preference, and top the glass with sparkling water.
  5. Stir it well and you are ready with your homemade Lahori Zeera drink. Serve cold.
  6. You can decorate with some mint leaves and a thin slice of lime.
