Baywatch star Nicole Eggert diagnosed with breast cancer


Nicole Eggert has opened up about her breast cancer diagnosis.

He Baywatch alum spoke with People about receiving her stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer diagnosis in December 2023. Originally, the actress said she experienced symptoms such as gaining 25 pounds in three months, plus “terrible pain” in her left breast, and assumed that It was nothing serious and just a part of menopause.

Eggert didn’t end up going to the doctor until she felt a lump in the same breast. “It really hurt and throbbed,” he told the outlet.

“I immediately went to my GP and she told me I needed to go immediately to have it checked out. But the problem was that I couldn’t get an appointment. Everything was reserved. So I had to wait until the end of November to finish it.”

After receiving a mammogram and three biopsies, it was determined that the lump was actually cancer.

“This journey has been difficult for me. “This has not been an easy journey through life,” said the Carlos in charge Star said, but added that he has a knack for coping when his situation seems bleak. “I always read inspirational quotes and cheesy things, but they help me get through.”

As for next steps, Eggert needs surgery to remove the lump and is waiting for his oncologist to determine when he will begin chemotherapy and radiation. The actress is not sure if the cancer has spread beyond that area.

“I can definitely feel it,” she said of the lump in her breast. “It’s there. It needs to be taken out. So it’s just a question of do I have to do the treatment before the surgery or can they do the surgery and then do the treatment afterward.”

“I panic and think: just get this out of me,” he added. “You sit there and it’s in you and you think every second that passes it’s in me. “It’s growing and you just want it to come out.”

Although Eggert has a family history of cancer — her father has skin cancer and her mother has colon cancer — she explained that her “biggest fear” with this diagnosis is not being close to her two daughters, Keegan, 12, and Dilyn, 25 years old.

“[Dilyn’s] I am an adult, but I have a 12 year old child at home where I am the only caregiver. I have no family. “I have nothing,” he said, noting “the horror” on Keegan’s face when he told her about the diagnosis. “It immediately made me realize that you can’t succumb to this. This is something I have to get over. This is something I have to get over. “She needs me more than anything and anyone.”

Because of how expensive medical bills can be, one of Eggert’s friends, Mindy Molinary, created a GoFundMe page to help her financially. When talking to People, he Baywatch The student admitted that finances are one of her biggest stresses in terms of being a single mother.

“My fear is that my daily hustle, everything I do to keep everything going, will come to a screeching halt when I’m not feeling well or I’m sick or I’m in the hospital or whatever I’m going through. ” she said. “It’s so overwhelming and I’m doing everything I can to not spiral into a spiral.
