Track star Jyothi Yarraji stuns in corseted black dress and Swarovski snake cuff
The first edition of Vogue Values: Women of Excellence was held on February 17 and brought together powerful voices from sports, culture, business, entertainment and social change. It was a day filled with meaningful conversations and an evening dedicated to honoring the women who are shaping the present and the future in their own way.
Among the names celebrated was track and field star Jyothi Yarraji, who was recognized for her record-breaking run and consistent dominance on the track.
Jyothi Yarraji stuns in a black dress
While her achievements on the field are widely known, Yarraji made an equally striking impression on the red carpet. For the evening she chose a black dress by designer Sharnita Nandwana. The ensemble gave a bold update to the classic black dress. It had an asymmetrical neckline that markedly crossed the collarbone.
A hand-embellished strap secured the look and became an eye-catching detail. The corseted bodice cinched her waist perfectly before falling into a floor-length skirt with a high slit that added drama. Layers of tulle with handmade beading added texture to the dress, while geometric patterns in the fabric gave it a structured, almost architectural feel. The gaze felt strong and confident, much like Yarraji's own. She paired the ensemble with a sculptural Swarovski snake-shaped ear cuff.
The crystal-encrusted piece wrapped around her ear and instantly caught attention. On her feet she wore classic black Jimmy Choo pumps, finished with shiny bows that provided a fun contrast to the elegant dress. Her hair was open with a soft side part, neatly tucked behind one ear to highlight the jewelry. The makeup was kept minimalist and clean, with neutral tones and defined eyes completing the look.
Jyothi Yarraji holds the national record in the 100m hurdles and continues to raise the bar for Indian athletics. She is a two-time Asian champion and won gold in the 100m hurdles at the 2023 and 2025 Asian Championships. She also bagged a silver medal at the 2022 Asian Games. In 2024, she created history by becoming the first Indian woman to compete in the 100m hurdles at the Paris Olympics. From breaking records on the court to making her mark on the carpet, Jyothi Yarraji once again proved why she stands out.
