AAJ KA PANCHANG, AUGUST 20, 2024: According to Drik Panchang, the Pratipada Tithi and Dwitiya Tithi of Krishna Paksha are scheduled on Tuesday, August 20. Both Krishna Pratipada and Krishna Dwitiya are considered auspicious for beginning important activities and fall within the timings of Shubh Muhurta. Also, there are three festivals scheduled for the day – Gayatri Japam, Bhadrapada Begins (Northern) and Ishti. Before starting any ceremony at home, do not forget to check the Tithis – the auspicious and inauspicious timings – as they are crucial for a smooth process.

SUNRISE, SUNSET, MOONRISE AND MOONSET ON AUGUST 20

The sun will rise at 5:53 am and set at 6:55 pm, while the moon will rise at 7:34 pm and set at 6:12 am

TITHI, NAKSHATRA AND RASHI DETAILS FOR AUGUST 20

The Pratipada Tithi is scheduled to last till 8:32 pm, after which it will become Dwitiya Tithi. The auspicious Shatabhisha Nakshatra is expected to be in effect till 3:09 am on August 21, after which it will become Purva Bhadrapada Nakshatra. The moon is expected to be in Kumbha Rashi, while the sun is scheduled to be in Simha Rashi.

SHUBH MUHURAT FOR AUGUST 20

The Brahma Muhurta is scheduled to be held from 4:25 am to 5:09 am, followed by the Pratah Sandhya Muhurta from 4:47 am to 5:53 am and the Vijaya Muhurta from 2:35 pm to 3:27 pm. The Godhuli Muhurta is scheduled to be held from 6:55 pm to 7:17 pm, while the Tri Pushkara Yoga is scheduled to be held from 3:09 am to 5:54 am on August 21. The Sayahna Sandhya Muhurta is scheduled to be held between 6:55 pm and 8:01 pm. The Nishita Muhurta is expected to be held from 12:02 am to 12:46 am on August 21.

ASHUBH MUHURAT FOR AUGUST 20

Rahu Kalam Muhurta is expected to be celebrated between 3:40 PM and 5:17 PM, Yamaganda Muhurta between 9:09 AM and 10:46 AM and Gulikai Kalam Muhurta between 12:24 PM and 2:02 PM. Dur Muhurtam is scheduled to be celebrated between 8:29 AM and 9:22 AM and again between 11:19 PM and 12:02 AM on August 21. Baana Muhurta is expected to be celebrated in Raja from 11:44 PM and continuing through the night. The Panchaka is expected to be in force throughout the day.
