Aaj Ka Panchang, August 16, 2024: Four festivals will be celebrated today, Friday: Varalakshmi Vrat, Simha Sankranti, Shravana Putrada Ekadashi and Damodara Dwadash.
AAJ KA PANCHANG, AUGUST 16, 2024: According to Drik Panchang, Ekadashi Tithi and Dwadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha are said to be celebrated on Friday, 16th August. Both Shukla Ekadashi and Shukla Dwadashi are considered auspicious for the commencement of important activities like homa/homam/havana/havanam/yagna/yagnam. Also, both fall within the timings of Shubh Muhurta.
On this day, devotees celebrate four important festivals: Varalakshmi Vrat, Simha Sankranti, Shravana Putrada Ekadashi and Damodara Dwadashi. Tithis, as well as auspicious and inauspicious times, are extremely crucial when it comes to celebrating any event.
SUNRISE, SUNSET, MOONRISE AND MOONSET ON AUGUST 16
The sun is projected to rise at 5:51 a.m. and set at 6:59 p.m. Meanwhile, the moon is projected to rise at 4:32 p.m. and set at 2:42 a.m. on August 17.
TITHI, NAKSHATRA AND RASHI DETAILS FOR 16 AUGUST
Ekadashi Tithi is likely to last till 9:39 am, after which it will change to Dwadashi Tithi. The auspicious nakshatra Mula will remain in force till 12:44 pm, followed by the Purva Ashadha nakshatra. According to Drik Panchang, the moon will be in Dhanu Rashi (Sagittarius). Meanwhile, the sun is predicted to remain in Karka Rashi (Cancer) till 7:54 pm and then transit to Simha Rashi (Leo).
SHUBH MUHURAT FOR AUGUST 16
The Brahma Muhurta is likely to take place between 4:24 AM and 5:08 AM, followed by the Vijaya Muhurta between 2:36 PM and 3:29 PM. The Pratah Sandhya Muhurta will take place between 4:46 AM and 5:51 AM. The Sayahna Sandhya Muhurta is scheduled between 6:59 PM and 8:04 PM. The Nishita Muhurta is scheduled to take place between 12:04 AM and 12:47 AM on August 17. The Godhuli Muhurta is expected to take place between 6:59 PM and 7:21 PM.
ASHUBH MUHURAT FOR AUGUST 16
The Rahu Kalam Muhurta is said to take place from 10:47 to 12:25, the Yamaganda Muhurta from 15:42 to 17:21 and the Gulikai Kalam Muhurta from 7:29 to 9:08. The Dur Muhurtam is scheduled in two phases – from 8:29 to 9:21 and from 12:51 to 13:44. The Baana Muhurta is said to take place on Agni till 19:54. Meanwhile, the Bhadra is projected to take place from 5:51 to 9:39.
