The opening ceremony and global welcome gala for India will be hosted by the Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) on February 20 at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi. This grand event will mark the beginning of the long-awaited celebrations of the 71st Miss World pageant.
The Miss World opening ceremony will be available to stream live on missworld.com on the evening of February 20. Meanwhile, the 71st Miss World Global Final will be held at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai on March 9.
On February 21, the Continental Beauty with a Purpose Challenge will enthrall audiences at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Several important competitions are planned to take place in different cities. Miss World, created by Eric Morley in the United Kingdom in 1951, has the distinction of being the oldest international beauty pageant. After Morley's death in 2000, his wife, Julia Morley, co-chaired the pageant. Along with Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth, it is recognized as one of the four great beauty pageants. Karolina Bielawska of Poland currently holds the title, crowned on March 16, 2022 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
India has achieved victory several times in the Miss World pageant, winners including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 1994 and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in 2000.
