The 71st edition of the Miss World 2024 pageant returned to India on Saturday after a gap of 28 years, with the much-awaited grand finale taking place in Mumbai at the Jio World Convention Centre.
Sini Shetty, the winner of Femina Miss India 2022, represents India on this global stage. The competition features 112 contenders vying for the coveted title, with 28 contestants representing various African nations. Brazil won the “Beauty with Purpose” contest.

Brazil won the continental Beauty with Purpose award.
India's hope
Among the contestants, 22-year-old Sini, originally from Mumbai and with roots in Karnataka, is India's hopeful. A trained dancer, Shetty earned her Arangetram in Bharatanatyam at a tender age, under the tutelage of esteemed classical dancer Radhakrishnan Padmini.
Star-studded event
Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui and other celebrities were seen on the red carpet of the pageant.

This star-studded event features filmmaker Karan Johar and Miss World 2013 Megan Young as co-hosts, along with performances by singer Neha Kakkar, her brother Tony Kakkar and Shaan. To add glamour, Polish model Karolina Bielawska, the current Miss World 2021, graced the occasion.
A distinguished panel of judges, comprising film producer Sajid Nadiadwala, cricketer Harbhajan Singh, journalist Rajat Sharma and actress and social worker Amruta Fadnavis, among others, will play a pivotal role in selecting the next global ambassador of beauty.

This year, the Miss World Organization highlights the importance of the event, underscoring its role in celebrating not only beauty, but also purpose. As the world awaits the coronation of the next Miss World, the anticipation and excitement surrounding this grand return to India after almost three decades is palpable.
Competitions in the Miss World pageant include World Top Designer Award, Miss World Top Model, Miss World Sports Challenge, Miss World Talent Final, Multi-Media Challenge and Head To Head Challenge. The Continental Beauty With A Purpose Challenge and Miss World's Grand Red Carpet Special will add glamor to this extraordinary event.
