With the annual Summer Game Fest showcase fading in the rearview mirror and 2024 still halfway away, it's the perfect time to get excited about some new games coming your way.
We're actually coming to the end of a slightly slower period for big releases, but it looks like the next few months will make up for it in style.
Here's a handy list of some of the biggest releases coming out in the remainder of the year, so you can start getting ready to have some fun.
1. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
One of the most famous games in history is about to receive a huge downloadable expansion, and we're just a few days away from being able to dive into it.
Shadow Of The Erdtree promises dozens more hours of adventure and tension as players explore all-new locations and open-world areas, while trying to get to the heart of some of the most mysterious details of the Elden Ring story.
This will be an expansion that you'll need to be pretty far into the base game to access, but its progress so far makes it feel like an amazing new chapter in this sublime game. The extension arrives on June 21.
2. Shadows of Assassin's Creed
The next big Assassin's Creed game looks sensational and showed off an extended gameplay demo at publisher Ubisoft's latest event. It is set in Japan and will feature two protagonists: Yasuke, a real-life African samurai, and Naoe, a shinobi assassin.
Therefore, you'll alternate between Yasuke's more forceful, aggressive style for crunchy combat and Naoe's stealthy, sneaky approach for subtlety and assassination.
Best of all, it looks like the game will be really beautiful and we expect a lot of content, like Valhalla and Odyssey before it. Shadows launches on November 15.
3. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
There is never a year without a Call of Duty game; Such an idea would make both publisher Activision and its new owner, Microsoft (which also operates Xbox), cringe. This year it is a continuation of the Black Ops sub-franchise and looks like a riot of explosive action.
It will bring a campaign that should be as adrenaline-filled as ever, along with the necessary multiplayer fun, as well as a full zombies mode with two maps at launch.
However, in terms of actual innovation, it also brings a new animation and movement system that should make players look more realistic than ever, as they move and look in different directions; If this proves a success, it could be a big leap. forward for Call Of Duty. It will be released on October 25.
4. Star Wars Outlaws
Star Wars Outlaws is another really promising open-world action game from Ubisoft, looking like the scoundrel simulator you never knew you needed (or were desperately waiting for).
It will allow players to take control of Kay Vess, a rising con artist and thief in a dangerous galaxy, as she attempts to make a name for herself in the galactic underworld of cartels, crime lords, and imperial oversight.
You'll be able to explore multiple large locations and iconic cities, with space combat using your spaceship and a speeder bike to traverse the ground, and when you're on foot it looks like a fun Uncharted-style shooter with plenty of Star Wars touches included. Outlaws arrives August 30.
5. Dragon Age: The Veil Guard
The massive success of Baldur's Gate 3 has perfectly proven that you can find mainstream sales with even the oldest RPGs, and EA certainly hopes that's true for its next Dragon Age game.
This is a series that has high fantasy fun in its stories, but it's been a long wait since Dragon Age: Inquisition in 2014.
A decade later, the series is back and we'll finally see it in depth this summer before releasing sometime later in 2024. We know we'll be fighting a terrible threat, with all-new companions to recruit and locations to discover, but it's still It remains to be seen if this is an action RPG, a pure action game, or even a truly old school RPG.
