Dr. Mehmet Oz may have paid Medicare and Social Security taxes, the Senate's democratic memo

Christopher Krepioch, Oz spokesman, told NBC News in a statement in response to the memorandum: “The Government Ethics Office has made an extensive review of Dr. Oz's finances as part of the regular investigation process. OGE has transmitted a letter to the Senate that indicates that any possible conflict has resolved and that is in compliance with the law.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comments.

Oz, the personality of television and surgeon, will appear before the Senate Finance Committee for a confirmation hearing on his nomination on Friday, the president of the panel, Senator Mike Crapo, R-ID, did not immediately respond to a request for comments on the memorandum.
