President Donald Trump asked on Monday to the pharmaceutical companies that “justify the success” of his drugs covid days after the Food and Medicines Administration established new limits on who can receive vaccines for the virus.
“It is very important that pharmaceutical companies justify the success of their various Covid drugs. Many people think they are a miracle that saved millions of lives. Others disagree!” Trump wrote in a social publication of truth.
The FDA approved on Wednesday the last round of Covid vaccines, but only for people with greater risk of serious diseases.
The president's comments also occur days after the centers for the Director of Disease Control and Prevention, Susan Monarez, after she refused to resign. Four other senior health officials of the CDC also announced that they would resign the agency last week, including Demetre Daskalakis, director of the National Immunization and Respiratory Diseases Center.
“With the CDCs shattered by this question, I want the answer and I want it now,” Trump said in the publication.
“I have shown me information about PfizerAnd others, that is extraordinary, but they never seem to show those results to the public. Why not? “The president wrote.
Leadership agitation in CDCs follows a series of measures from the Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to review federal health agencies and change the immunization policies of the United States. He has instituted massive shots, destroyed a panel of key government vaccines and canceled studies on RNM shooting technology.
Trump urged pharmaceutical companies to be more transparent about their results to “clarify this disaster”, writing that drug manufacturers “allow everyone to destroy, including Bobby Kennedy Jr. and CDC, trying to discover the success or failure of the work of pharmaceutical companies.”
Trump also continued to promote the speed of the Warp operation, the pandemic vaccine effort of its first administration was launched in May 2020 to accelerate the development, manufacture and distribution of vaccines and covid therapies.
However, Kennedy, an outstanding skeptic of the vaccine, has minimized the effectiveness of vaccines.
In a guest essay published in the New York Times on Monday, a group of nine former directors and interim directors of the CDC said that Kennedy is “endangering” the health of Americans.
“That [Kennedy] He has made the CDC and the public health system of our nation in recent months, which culminated with his decision to fire Dr. Susan Monaez as director of the CDC days ago, is different from everything we have seen in the agency, already a difference of anything that our country has experienced, “the group wrote.
“We are concerned about the broad impact that all these decisions will have on the health security of the United States,” they said.
