Nearly $500 million withdrawal surprises major US stock exchange

According to data provided by Whale Alert, yesterday, Coinbase (NASDAQ:), the leading cryptocurrency exchange platform in the United States, witnessed the withdrawal of nearly $500 million worth of bitcoins. A total of 7,999 BTC, or approximately $472.8 million, left the platform’s cold wallet in several transactions to an address with the code “13F8P8.” This massive amount of the flagship cryptocurrency was then sent to 50 other unidentified addresses in exact portions of 157 BTC, or $9.27 million at current prices. It is still unknown what is behind this remarkable activity. Some speculate that it could be one of the Bitcoin ETF issuers (BlackRock (NYSE:), for example), which is accumulating cryptocurrencies despite all the recent setbacks and volatile price movements.

Burn stablecoin tokens

As reported by @RLUSD_TRACKER, an X-user who tracks the minting and redemption of Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, 185 Ripple USD (RLUSD) tokens were burned in the RLUSD Treasury yesterday. The tokens were destroyed by sending them back to the issuer’s account. Earlier this month, U.Today reported that Ripple began testing its stablecoin in a private beta. According to data from XRP Scan, the minting process began about a week ago with the aforementioned 185 RLUSD. Currently, access to the new product is limited to some of the company’s enterprise partners. After the beta testing stage, the stablecoin will be available to the general public.

Shytoshi Kusama highlights SHIB's epic move into the gaming world

In a recent X-post, lead Shytoshi Kusama praised Shiba Eternity’s latest move; the project has gone through a rebrand and is now called PlayWithShib, with its X-account also renamed from @ShibaEternity to @playwithshib. “What an epic move!” Kusama wrote in her post. The name change isn’t the only change the project has in store for the community; from now on, it will be expanding its presence in the gaming sphere far beyond its first smartphone NFT card game. In late July, the Shiba Eternity team announced its intentions to launch several additional games on Shibarium, a layer-2 solution. Additionally, in early August, Shiba Inu’s marketing lead Lucie teased a major update to this game: its transition from Web2 to Web3.
