The fuel conductors of the airline are worth the strike after the payment offer 'Miserly'

The workers of a Scottish company that distributes fuel to several main aircraft companies are being fenced in strike shares by a salary offer “misery”.

After logistics drivers at the Grangemouth site in Turners (Soham) Limited were offered a salary increase of 1%, the Unite Union organized a vote to consider industrial action.

The ballot closes on September 4, and any resulting attack action will probably take place later in the month.

The union believes that fuel supplies to the main aviation companies, including Jet 2, Easyjet and Emirates that operate in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle airports will be directly affected if drivers take industrial measures, and urged the employer to present a better offer.

The union said that the 1% of Turners offer occurs after the inflation of the consumer price index increased to 3.8% in July, and after the company registered a gain after taxes of £ 51 million in 2023, its latest public figures.

UNITE General Secretary Sharon Graham said: “Unite Turners drivers will not accept a salary offer of a very profitable company.

“We will completely support our members in their struggle to ensure better jobs, salaries and conditions.”

Regional Officer Lyn Turner said: “Grangemouth Logistics drivers are a key group of workers who provide fuel supplies to airlines at Edimburg, Glasgow and Newcastle airports.

“Turners needs to return to his senses and make a fair salary offer to our members.”

Turners, Jet 2, Easyjet and Emirates have contacted to comment.
