Sainsbury's remembers the HOUMOUS brand itself due to E.Coli's fears
Sainsbury's has retired two varieties of its own Houous brand due to the fears that E.Coli can contain.
The supermarket said that 315 g of the bathtubs of JS Classic Houmous with a use by date of September 13 and 200 g of Js Lemon & Corimous packages dated September 14 were recovering as a precautionary step.
The food standards agency said the affected lots could contain E. Coli producer of Shiga toxins (Stec).
Sainsbury apologized to customers for any inconvenience and advised them not to eat the affected products.
HOUMOUS covered by retirement can be returned to the Sainsbury branches for a complete refund.
The symptoms of the E. coli organism include diarrhea, which can be bloody, abdominal pain and potentially deadly hemolytic uremic syndrome, which can cause renal insufficiency.
