Manchester, UK, July 31, 2024, Chainwire

Registration for Rootstock's Quarterly Ecosystem Summit is now openOn August 1st, 2024, the Rootstock community will gather for its first Ecosystem Summit of 2024. This digital event, powered by RootstockLabs, is the first in a planned quarterly event where Rootstock developers and users come together to discover the newest protocols and hear the latest news coming to the Rootstock ecosystem.

The quarterly Rootstock Ecosystem Summit brings together leading contributors, developers, builders, and DeFi enthusiasts from across the Rootstock ecosystem to discuss the latest developments on the network. Major announcements and presentations from Sovryn, Boltz, and other special guests are expected during the event.

Rootstock is the first, largest, and longest-running Bitcoin sidechain, with over 13 million transactions to date taking place across its network.

This summit will focus on the newest protocols that will be released for the sidechain in the near future. Additionally, many of the leading Bitcoin developers on Rootstock will share their latest developments and news, as well as upcoming announcements for future integrations on Rootstock. Attendees of the event will be the first to hear about funding, giveaways, and other initiatives being undertaken by contributors to the largest and longest-running Bitcoin sidechain.

In addition to Sovryn and Boltz’s presentations, several Bitcoin developers building protocols on Rootstock will share updates on their projects. Ongun Ozdemir, Venture Associate at RootstockLabs, will also share updates on Wave 6 of the Rootstock Grants Program, which is now open for applications. This initiative is part of RootstockLabs’ commitment to allocate $3.25 million this year to boost the Rootstock ecosystem. The funding will support the Grants Program to attract the best protocols, exchanges, and developer tools to Rootstock.

“The Rootstock Ecosystem Summit is for Rootstock users and developers and our desire is for it to become the most prolific digital event for the DeFi sector. Events in other industries like this have demonstrated the benefits that come when like-minded developers come together and share their latest developments, so it seemed only natural that Rootstock would also host such an event. We hope that the outcomes of this summit will help the Rootstock community evolve and produce technology that is beneficial to all Bitcoin and DeFi users.” Richard Green, Director of Partner Success at RootstockLabs

Registration for the summit is now open on Luma and is open to developers, users and journalists alike. The event will take place on Thursday 1st August 2024, from 17:00-18:00 (UK time). Registration is free and can be found here: Quarterly Rootstock Ecosystem Summit Luma

About rootstockRootstock is the world’s most secure smart contract platform that is cryptographically connected to the Bitcoin blockchain. Known as a Bitcoin sidechain, Rootstock uses a censorship-resistant two-way peg to allow users to send Bitcoin directly to the Rootstock chain, which is then converted into Smart Bitcoins (RBTC) on the Rootstock blockchain. These RBTC can then be used to deploy or interact with smart contracts and decentralized applications on the Rootstock blockchain. BTC can then be easily moved back to the Bitcoin mainchain at any time using the trustless bridge or through a variety of protocols such as Sovryn FastBTC.
