“Anora” came out at the top during the 97th Academy Awards on Sunday.
The film, distributed by Neon, took five trophies home: Best movie, Best Edition, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Actress. It was the majority of any nominated film.
Sean Baker, the author behind “Anora”, is now the first person to win four Oscar for the same film. The ceremony, which was broadcast live from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood in ABC, was presented by comedian Conan O'Brien and presented Nick Offerman ads. It was broadcast on Hulu, which suffered technical difficulties and reduced some users just before the largest awards in the night.
This year's awards were a first night: the star “The Brutalist” Adrien Brody became the first to go 2 by 2 in the category of best actor, surpassing Timothée Chalamet, who was nominated for “a complete stranger.”

“Flow” became the first Letona film to claim an academy award, winning the best animated feature film, and Zoe Saldana became the first American ancestry of Dominican to win an Oscar, raising a statue for his role Netflix's “Emilia Pérez”.
Diversity shone throughout the night, with victories for the filmmakers of Brazil (“I am still here”) and Iran (“In the shadow of the cypress”). “No other land”, appointed Best Documentary Film, tracks the expulsion of the West Bank communities by the Israeli Army and comes from a collective of Palestinian and Israeli filmmakers.
