Millions potentially affected after Gucci, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen

Gucci luxury brands, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen have been pirate in a cyber attack, which can affect millions of customers.

Keing, the French matrix company of the labels, confirmed the violation in a statement without appointing the affected brands, saying that he identified in June that “an unauthorized third party obtained temporary access to our systems and agreed to the limited data of the clients of some of our houses.”

Stolen client data includes names, email addresses, telephone numbers, addresses and total sums spent in brands, according to the BBC report.

Kering said no financial information was stolen, such as credit card or bank account numbers.

The computer pirates, who identified themselves as “bright hunters” for the BBC, claim to have data linked to 7.4 million unique email addresses.

Kering said his brands immediately revealed the violation of the relevant authorities and notified customers in accordance with local regulations. He did not comment when Reuters asked him which countries were affected by the attack.

The attack seems to be part of a broader phenomenon that affects luxury brands and retailers this year.

There have also been violations in Richemont's Cartier and some of the LVMH labels.

In July, Hong Kong's surveillance gifts said he was investigating a data leak that affected some 419,000 clients in Louis Vuitton of LVMH.
