Input level works fall into almost a third since the chatgpt launch

The number of entry level works composed of junior positions, postgraduate roles and learning has decreased by almost a third (31.9 percent) since the arrival of Chatgpt, shows the investigation.

The Adzuna employment search site discovered that vacancies looking for graduates had fallen to the lowest level from COVID, and entry level work now only represent a quarter of the total market, below 28.9 percent in 2022.

While replacing entry level roles with artificial intelligence in tasks is part of the image, the increase in labor costs, including the greatest contributions of the national insurance, is also a factor, with an increase in wages overcoming inflation until recently.

Chatgpt was launched in November 2022, launching several versions since then and starting what has been a new era of technological transformation. The company that owns now is worth $ 300 billion (£ 219 billion), which makes it larger than any public company in the London Stock Exchange.

Anthrope's executive director, another AI firm, recently said that AI could eliminate up to half of all entry level work in just five years. Dario Amodei argued that unemployment could increase to ten or 20 percent in the United Kingdom during that period, saying: “I don't think this is on the radar of people.”

James Neave, Head of Data Science of Adzuna, said: “If you can reduce your hiring at the entrance level, that will only increase its efficiency and improve cost savings. Nic contributions were only a pure financial burden”, while suggesting that the next labor rights bill could also be a determination factor.

“If you are an employer, everything adds to this list of reasons why you should not hire people,” he said.

Several large companies throughout the country have already said that they plan to significantly reduce their staff as part of cost reduction measures, with artificial intelligence scheduled to assume much of the work.

BT is a case in question, since the CEO Allison Kirkby says that the initial plans to eliminate 40,000 to 50,000 employees for 2030 do not “reflect the full potential of AI”, which means that they could continue even more job losses.

Amazon also said that employment losses would come as a result of the use of AI in greater range roles, but did not specify how many or when.
