Donald Trump's “best friend” South African-born Elon Musk has endorsed a post on X that criticizes Americans as “re***ed” workers who cannot compare to skilled foreign hires in Silicon Valley.
Musk was responding to a post, using a word widely considered an insult, that explained the difference between the “right wing” (whom Trump claims to support) and the “tech right.”
The “right wing” wants everything in the United States, including jobs, for Americans, the poster explained. The “tech right,” however, wants H-1B visas for “skilled” foreign workers because American workers “are re***ed” and “you can't beat that in training,” the poster adds.
Musk responded Thursday night in a post that has since been deleted: “That sums it up pretty well. “This was eye-opening.”
Musk, an immigrant, later clarified that he wants exceptions to MAGA's anti-immigrant stance for the top “0.1% of the population.” [foreign] “Engineering talent is… essential for America to continue winning.” After all, America is “mostly Americans,” he noted, apparently for the sake of the Americans he considers “re***ed.”
Vivek Ramaswamy, Musk's partner in DOGE, both of whom Trump tasked with breaking up the federal government, also disparaged American intelligence in an X post on Thursday. He blamed American comedies for extolling the virtues of weaker characters over those with brains, making it necessary to hire (at least in the tech world) smarter people from other countries.
“If we really want to solve the problem, we have to face the TRUTH: our American culture has worshiped mediocrity over excellence for too long,” Ramaswamy educated.
He then called for changes in American child-rearing: “More math tutoring, less sleepovers… more creating, less relaxing.”
Both men were attacked by MAGA Trump supporters on social media, particularly far-right activist Laura Loomer over the duo's push for H-1B visas for foreign tech workers. Loomer then suddenly lost her blue X check mark that had made her a “verified” user.
Texas Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett noted on
“MAGA was played and he's mad at who?!” she asked. “The same two screaming guys were taking care of them last week when the government was on the brink of a shutdown!”
