Dogecoin Co-Founder Breaks Silence on Satoshi's Bitcoin Speculation By U.Today

U.Today – In recent tweets, co-founder Billy Markus, known as “Shibetoshi Nakomoto” on U.S. X, addressed speculation about his involvement in and other cryptocurrencies.

Markus reiterated in his post that aside from Dogecoin and a previous project called “Bells,” he has not been involved in creating or working on any other cryptocurrency, stating that he has not worked on any cryptocurrency projects since 2014 and has no plans to do so again.

“Anyone claiming I’m affiliated is lying,” Markus added, ending any speculation about his involvement in other blockchain initiatives.

However, the conversation took a humorous turn when influencer Ian Miles Cheong slyly replied, “But you created Bitcoin.” Markus, brushing off the claim with his trademark humor, replied, “Yeah, and I created the internet and oxygen,” highlighting the absurdity of speculation.

This exchange comes amid a flurry of theories linking several figures in the cryptocurrency world to the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin. The Dogecoin co-founder’s humorous yet firm denial is intended to put speculation to rest and clarify his position within the cryptocurrency community.

Dogecoin (DOGE) was created in 2013 as a light-hearted alternative to traditional cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, four years after Bitcoin was launched in 2009. Satoshi also disappeared from the scene in 2011, so it is unlikely that Dogecoin's founder was Satoshi.

Satoshi remains a mystery

Despite efforts to investigate and uncover the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin remains a mystery, with no real-life figure to relate him to. As such, there is constant speculation about Satoshi's identity.

There are indications that Satoshi may not be a single person, but a group that worked on refining and developing the code that powers Bitcoin.

Some believe that the complexity of the coding used to create Bitcoin would have required more than one person, and was likely developed by a team of coders. To this day, the mystery of Satoshi remains unsolved.
