Disney increases prices for transmission packages

The NFL+ plans will remain at the same price.

The company previously alluded to price increases in its third quarter profit call, added that it expects a modest increase in Disney+ subscribers in its fourth fiscal quarter. Disney increased the last time the prices for their packages increased in October 2024, and most plans increased by $ 1 to $ 2.

Price increases occur when the entertainment company has faced intense scrutiny for its management of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” After Disney's subsidiary, ABC, withdrew the show last week for the controversial comments of the host about the alleged murderer of the conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The company announced almost a week after the program would return to the air on Tuesday, after the spectators and the hosts of show criticated Disney for their actions.

Meanwhile, some fans turned to social networks to announce that they were canceling their Disney+ subscriptions in solidarity with Kimmel.

Disney did not immediately respond to CNBC's request for comments on changes in the price.
