DeFi aggregator Zapper adds support for Polkadot's Moonbeam parachain By Investing.com

Investing.com – DeFi aggregator and portfolio management tool Zapper has added support for Moonbeam Network as it looks to expand its offerings within the ecosystem.

Zapper allows users to track the wallet activity of their favorite collectors, adding a social element to the typically data-intensive on-chain data monitoring process. Additionally, the platform allows users to manage and farm yields from various DeFi projects.

By integrating Moonbeam, Zapper extends its reach into the Polkadot ecosystem, making it easier for users to interact with cross-chain assets and applications.

The move comes shortly after Zapper created indexing templates to simplify the process of indexing on-chain data and help users understand blockchain data without advanced coding knowledge. The integration also allows them to manage assets on Moonbeam through Zapper’s unified interface.

Founded in 2020, Zapper raised $15 million in its Series A round, led by Framework Ventures, Mark Cuban, and Ashton Kutcher’s Sound Ventures.

Moonbeam is an Ethereum-compatible smart contract platform that offers an EVM implementation and a Web3-compatible API. This compatibility allows developers to deploy existing Solidity smart contracts and DApp frontends on Moonbeam with minimal modifications. It also improves interoperability between Polkadot, Cosmos, and other blockchains.

As a parachain on the Polkadot network, Moonbeam benefits from the shared security of the Polkadot Relay Chain and can integrate with other chains connected to Polkadot.

Moonbeam’s cross-chain messaging capabilities give developers the tools to build decentralized applications (dApps) that can interact across multiple networks.

The company behind the Moonbeam protocol is PureStake, a development team that also built developer tools for Algorand and operates Polkadot validators. PureStake began working on Moonbeam in early 2020 and the network is also supported by the Moonbeam Foundation.

Currently, there are three networks in the Moonbeam ecosystem. Moonbeam operates as an EVM-compatible parachain within Polkadot, while its sister network, Moonriver, launched as a parachain on Kusama in June 2021.

Moonbeam and Moonriver have almost identical technology, and Moonriver usually receives new features before implementing them on Moonbeam. Both networks share a testnet called Moonrock.
